How Solar Works
At Prestige Energy we have faith in the power of the sun, and we want all Australians to feel the same, which starts with understanding. Here is a simplified version of how solar energy works and why you should take advantage of it.

Photovoltaic (PV) modules
Photovoltaic modules, often referred to as solar panels, harnesses solar energy from the sun, converting it into eco-friendly generate DC power from the sun.

Inverter
Converts DC power into 240V (AC) power for use by standard appliances and grid connection.
The building uses the solar electricity generated, any excess power is fed back into the grid.

Bi-directional meter
A bi-directional meter measures both the excess electricity generated by a solar system and fed back into the grid and the electricity consumed from the grid.
